Canal City Competition
The City of Kaohsiung is an important southern port city of Taiwan. Bound by the sea and the original irrigation canals built in the Qing Dynasty, the city thrives on water elements. A railroad line divides the Zuoying District into regions of a traditional West side and a trendy East side. Responding to the Kaohsiung redevelopment goal, a system of canal netportfolio can effectively link the two disconnected sides by providing transpirational, recreational, and storm drainage benefits.
The San Mateo-Foster City School District sought to modernize and build new buildings for their then 26 year-old Foster City Elementary School. The majority of the work was to repair the mold caused by water leaking from the roofs. The new educational plan also called for an enlarged administration, library, and large group instruction gym space. For new buildings, the site layout aimed to create a private shared courtyard between buildings. The concept for the buildings is to match the architectural language of the existing buildings, while adding a hint of modernity through the use of innovative materials and structural system.
As a first generation Taiwanese American immigrant, I understand the process of assimilation that an immigrant has to go through. This process, as revealed in a series of photos, has a universal pattern that begins with avoiding and antagonizing against the mainstream culture to the final embracing. This pattern exhibits in immigrants of all ages and background.
In an effort to increase product adoption at the end-user level, I designed a series of user focused microsite to showcase top use cases for the kiteworks end users. The concept behind the mockup design is limit the amount of clicks and scrolling to cover useful information including top uses, tutorials videos, FAQ, and links sections.
A series of reference application demo videos created to showcase the potential of the kiteworks secure content platform with working sample code.
ER App for Google Glass
Built using the secure kiteworks mobile SDK, the ER App for Google Glass helps the ER physician quickly retrieve patient data and consult with specialists while constantly keeping her focus on the patient.
Oops! Insurance App for iOS
Built using the secure kiteworks mobile SDK, the Oops! Insurance app for iOS automates the many interactions and processes that occur between an insurance agent and a policyholder after a car accident.
